Taiko Drums
Taiko drums come to us from the ceremonial drums found in Oriental settings. There is a long, rich history behind the Taiko and the instruments that we have today try to reflect that history and capture the culture that they represent.
The Pearl Hira Taiko Drums are made of staved oak with a beautiful natural stain matte finish. Special carving techniques are used to reduce overtones and produce a balanced sound. It comes with a cowhide drum head and is available in both 12 and 14 inch. The Pearl Miya Taiko produces a thunderous sound with it’s premium cowhide heads which were chosen exclusively for the Miya Taiko. The Extra Small, pictured above is available in 14 inch diameter. They also offer three more sizes ranging from Small to Large.
These Shime Drums feature the same craftsmanship and unique carving techniques displayed by the drums above. Unlike the other models, these have been wrench tuned.
