Vintage Ludwig Drums

Vintage Ludwig drums are a hot commodity on the collector’s circuit. Formed in 1909 by the Ludwig brothers, this vintage drums company is most famous for it’s line of metal shells. Their first product was a bass drum pedal that was far superior to anything available at the time.

The Vintage Ludwigold series is another collectible item. These shell of these drums featured a gold finish and have not been re-issued since their debut in the ’20’s. Their Supraphonic snare is considered to be the standard snare for artists.

100th Anniversary Re-Issues

Ludwig stated on their official website that they will be releasing the Snare Drums of A Century Collection. Re-issues include the vintage 1928 Gold Triumphal drums, the 100th Anniversary Black Beauty and two Titanium Supraphonic models known as “The Chief”.

Their Black Beauty snare is highly sought after by collectors.
