You’ll notice in the picture above that no two limbs will hit at the same time. Snare, cymbals and bass are all separated.
This picture shows a non linear beat. It uses the same basic rhythm as the first beat, but notice that the bass and hats line up on 1 and 3, while snare and hats line up on 2 and 4. Learn more about counting and How to Read Drum Music.
