Electronic Drum Pad

Contents

A practice electronic drum pad, like the one shown above, is designed to help you develop your rhythm and timing. If you are looking to expand your electric drums, you’ll need an electronic pad like this.

The electronic pad models shown here are stand alone pads that do not need a drum module. They have built in sounds and programs that have been created to help you become a better drummer.

The Alesis E Practice Pad features over sixty drum samples. The included metronome helps you to develop a steady rhythm and with over fifty different games and exercises, you should stay busy improving your skills for awhile. This electronic pad is also portable so you can practice anywhere, and the headphone jack lets you practice quietly anytime.

The Roland RMP5 Rhythm Coach Electronic Pad is another practice device. This one has nicer mesh heads for a more realistic feel to playing the drums. You’ll get over forty sounds and the Coach feature will keep you in check by measuring time and stroke balance to improve your stick technique. You also get a dual trigger input for connecting an electronic kick and cymbal pad. It’s like practicing on a cocktail drum set.

The Simmons SD1 Electronic Drum Pad again offers multiple sounds, sixty five in all, a metronome and built in exercises. You can also record and playback your performances.

The Korg WaveDrum is a little bit different. It’s not really a practice coach like the models above. It’s more of a stand alone drum module that features Arabic instruments. You get three hundred possible instruments and various tempos, which are divided up between the rim and head zones. Instruments include the doumbek, darbuka, riq, and def among others.
