Forgive me for this video, but I found it absolutely hilarious. After watching about twenty or more “serious” videos of people showing off their spins and flips, this guy pops up and has me laughing out loud.

I think stick tricks are cool and all, but I feel like if you have time to show off by spinning and twirling your sticks while you’re playing live, you should probably put that extra effort into playing something more technical. Of course, if you’re in a cover band, these techniques can liven up a drum routine that is usually quite bland.
