Choosing a Drum Forum
Looking for a good drum forum? I recently started joining a bunch of different drum websites just to see the differences between a few of them and to see which forum has the best information. Below are links and short reviews of the drum sites that I have been too and am active on. If you use one that you don’t see listed, contact me and I’ll post a link, sign up, and give you props. This is the first online forum that I joined. It is a smaller community of musicians, but there is a lot of great drum information. You can find a bunch of product reviews as well as tips. You can post pictures of your set and videos of yourself. One of the cool things about this site is the battles. You can call out another member, set some rules, post videos and let the community vote on the winner. No prizes…only glory. See ya there.
This place is huge. The number of people online and posting at any given time is probably larger than the total amount of members for most sites. But what do you expect? It’s Pearl’s website! If you are looking for information on specific Pearl products this is the best forum to find it. They also have the general tips, maintenance, and chat that you’ll find at the smaller, less commercial sites.
Looking for information on that vintage Ludwig drumset or Slingerland kit? This is your best bet. Being a special niche, this website is a smaller community, but it is a great place to learn more about vintage kits. You can post pictures of your own set, find out how much your set is worth, and even browse through classifieds to buy a set or sell your own. They have a huge amount of threads dedicated to restoring vintage sets. So dust of your Ludwig Gold set and check it out.
